Cereal is Delicious!

Cereal is just about the world's greatest food! Quite frankly, most cereals are delicious! I'm sure most people have eaten cereal but few appreciate it at the level I do! If you are not as thrilled about breakfast as I am every day, here are some cereal tips to further your enjoyment of my favorite breakfast food.

Tip 1, The frosty bowl: How many times have you poured a big bowl of cereal and by the time you got to the end of it, the milk was room temperature? This used to happen to me all the time. Using critical thinking, something they teach you in nursing school, I realized I had encountered this dilemma before in my other favorite past time, beer. Beer gets warm by the time you get to the end of a glass, especially a tall boy, so what do you do? You put the glass in the freezer so it keeps the beer cold. The same can be done with cereal. Put a cereal bowl in the freezer at night. The next morning during breakfast bust that frosty bowl out and enjoy ICE COLD milk for the entire delicious bowl!

Tip 2- Mix and Match: Ever mixed two cereals? Probably not huh? Well why the hell not? As I have grown older and older cereal has become sweeter and sweeter. A bowl of lucky charms is almost too sweet to stomach. The cereal piece to marshmallow piece ratio was like 10:1 when I was 7. I think it's 1:1 now. How can one fix this you ask? Add some Cheerios. If you think about it, Cheerios taste almost the same as the non marshmallow pieces in Lucky Charms (regular cheerios, not honey nut). You can apply the same logic to frosted flakes mixed with corn flakes. If have a sweet tooth try cinnamon toast golden grams! Some of my other favorites include Fruity Pebbles + Kix, Fruit Loops + Rice Chex, and Reese Peanut butter Cup Cereal + Kelloggs Smoore cereal (Not for the faint at heart or diabetic.)

Tip 3- Add fruit: This one is self explanatory. Add bananas, peaches, strawberries, orange slices, raisins, ect to just about any cereal you want. Do not be afraid to experiment.

Tip 4- Buy the bag! I am a college student and that automatically makes me poor. Bagged cereal tastes EXACTLY THE SAME as the boxed stuff but costs half as much. I used to be against bagged cereal as it did not come with a prize, but now even boxed cereal requires you send away for the prize, which is extremely lame. So save yourself a few bucks and get the bagged stuff.

Tip 5- Two percent milk, the great compromise! Whole milk is just plain bad for you. Skim milk is water, do not kid yourself. 1% milk is simply a joke. 2% milk is the perfect middle ground. If you are really a nut, you can try using chocolate or strawberry milk every now and again, but don't abuse this! You will tire of it quickly. This should be something you do on special occasions.

Tip 6- Rice Crispy treats can be made with just about ANY cereal. Just melt some marshmallows and butter in a pan, turn the heat off and add 8 cups cereal. I wouldnt recommend using marshmallow cereal because it's slightly redundant, but whatever floats your boat.

That should get you started into realizing cereal's full potential! If your still not convinced about how awesome cereal is then your a fucking loser and a waste of life! So get your bowl chillin in the freezer and pick a mix to try out! Good luck!
